No doubt home PC today is faster than ever, both so even the slower brand-new team today has more power under its hood than all the combined computing power used in the implementation of the Apollo Lunar mission! Having said that, your new super fast PC with time inevitably will become a slow team snailing which will lead up to the wall. This here:
Provided that you use the equipment, pieces of file or file fragments are formed to eventually be evicted and lost each other. This process of fragmentation occurs due to the continuous and constant activity of the addition and removal of files on the hard disk when the team is performing a task. Fragmentation ultimately reduces the performance of the team due to processing resources be allocated to what in effect becomes a search n find operation.
Basically when a file is fragmented team seek the hard drive any time that file is opened to collect all fragments diverse in that file to be complete. As you can imagine this it is a time consuming and labour intensive process that makes a computer running slow and requires to run and perform slowly.
The defragmentation process
Defragmentation is the process whereby various different parts of a file are organized in contiguous so that file fragments connected one to another in sequential order, unless the file is a complete unit once again. Organize files in this way speeds a slow team otherwise because now that the file fragments are willing to form a whole team can access and retrieve that much faster file from your hard drive or any drive has only desfragmentada.
Windows comes with a basic disk defragment tool which does little to fix a slow computer
All Windows are installed with a defragmentation basic operating system tool, although not restore the computer slow to fast your old car will help to improve performance. Reach Windows intrinsic defragment tool is quite easy. All you have to do is click on start and then go to programs, look for the accessories tab (click that) head to tools of systems and finally get to the defragmentation tool. Default Windows defragmentation tool will appear as a Disk Defragmenter.
If you are using a Defragmenter tool included by default in Windows or third-party disk, the process of basic defragment the drive is almost the same and it could not be simpler. Simply choose any drive you want to defragment (assuming you have more than 1 drive) then click on "Defragment". You can choose to analyze the disk first by clicking on the "Analyze" button but this is pretty redundant since the passes defragmentation tool automatically the analysis process before defragmentation of all modes.
Windows XP paging file
There is a hidden file on your computer called the Pagefile.sys which together with the amount of physical RAM installed in your system is the Virtual memory:
Paging file + physical RAM = memory Virtual
The paging file is really a relic of the past and its aim was to increase the amount of actual physical RAM available on any particular computer system. You can see back in the day when the teams were equipped with an "impressive" 64-128 megabytes (MB) of RAM, as software applications became more advanced and at the same time more resources on hunger, which needed an alternative means to accommodate the amount of RAM, up to the point that hardware caught manufacturing and production capacity of RAM modules.
By the way means random access memory and RAM, is a component of hardware found in the team as memory modules. These days, however, RAM really not too much of a problem especially in systems high-end that can easily accommodate 16 G or more of RAM. Saying that, however, for the average owner of the prudent management of RAM PC remains a problem, especially when taking into account factors such as the insatiable operating systems as Windows Vista (need a minimum of 1.5 gigabytes of RAM for Vista in a basic acceptable level) and other software of voracious of resources which is the standard of modern computing.
Anyway back to the dinosaur of the past known as the paging file; for some reason or other Windows by default assigned still a figure of 1.5 times the physical RAM quantity in the paging file. In other words:
Physical RAM x 1.5 = paging (Virtual memory) file
Therefore in a system such that has 4 GB of physical RAM installed, the paging file deal a devastating 6 gigabytes of RAM! And that isn't the only problem related to the paging file here is the kicker:
Default paging file not can be defragmented!
The paging file despite its name of "virtual memory" is nothing more than space reserved disk which is written and regularly obtained data. Default paging file is stored in the windows boot partition, which means that the paging file is hosted in that part of Windows that contains the operating system and its folders respective support. There is a huge problem with this situation and which is:
When the paging file and the operating system are on the same drive partition simultaneous access to both systems is impossible and access to the must by necessity await completion of the access to the other. Naturally, this process makes a very slow computer.
Two ways to solve the problem of paging file and do the slow computer faster
1. The hard way to accelerate their slow implementation of team
Luckily though there is a way round this bottleneck situation; to move the paging file to a different partition Windows will be able to handle I/o (input/output) requests faster because the transfer of the paging file ensures a less competitive environment for read and write requests. However note however that if completely moves that the Windows boot partition paging file may not create a dump (Memory.dmp) file with the write debugging information when a kernel mode Stop Error message occurs.
The way to avoid this eventuality is to create a paging file that is stored on the boot partition and another paging file that is located in a separate partition. Windows by design accessing the paging file located in the boot partition not before first search paging file hosted on your boot partition.
2. The form easier to accelerate its slow implementation of team
As you can see the above method is a very complicated way and takes a long time to fix a slow computer! Surely should an easier and faster way be? Good indeed fortunately there is. Click on the link below to find out how to do it:
