The more common reason to reformat a computer is to clean out the garbage and errors to improve computer performance. No matter what you do Microsoft Software will degrade over time with use. Here is some insights and information on how to reformat your computer.
Types of Computer Reformats
There are several ways that you can reformat your computer depending on manufacturer, age of your computer, and of course choice. Always when possible obtain a back up of your files and make sure you have your software discs and registration information before you start.
Restore Discs - These are disc that are supplied to you in the documentation packet you received with your computer. There can also be an application from the manufacturer to create your computers restore discs. These disks make the process very easy and will walk you through the available options. Some also give you an option to just repair Windows, although this will probably not solve all your problems. It will however allow you to get at your files if your computer crashed. You simply insert the restore disk into your Cd Rom Drive and start your computer. The computer will boot from disk and give you the available options for you to choose and walk you through the computer restore process.
Restore Partitions - Manufactures have created a partition on the hard drive with the restore application instead of supplying discs. When you first turn on your computer you have a black screen that will briefly show you an F number key for Settings and usually if there is a restore partition the key required to activate that process. You might have to refer to the documentation to find the key to use. If you do not have the documentation you can go into the settings one and make the restore option viewable. If all else fails then keep trying F numbered keys until you see the restore application start. Once you gain access to the restore application it will give you the available options for you to choose and walk you through the restore process.
Authenticated Microsoft Software CD Rom -Your computer might have come with this disc and includes additional drivers and software discs. With this disc you would simply put in the CD drive and start the computer. If the disk does not have a boot program you will need to use Fdisk Format Dos Program. This program is available for free on many websites. You will then format the partition and move forward with the install. This is the most complicated of methods and it is doubtful you will encounter it. This is also the preferred method for people that know how to set up a computer and have experience in specialized computer installs.
For the most part you will encounter the first two options and it will be simple. You can always contact us for more information and assistance. We are always willing to help. Just doing it, is how we learned and if you make a mistake you can start over. This might just be the answer to breath new life into a computer and avoid the need for purchasing a new one.

This is also a good way to take out computer user frustration. If you can do a reformat of the computer drive please do so. Then donate that computer for others in need, there are a great deal of organizations that could benefit from your old computer. Also, do not throw away your computer, please take it to a computer recycling center for proper disposal.
