HP's Pavilion dv7 has always been about affordable performance compared to the more expensive and flashy Envy series. Admittedly, much of the design is based upon the Envy but just not at the same level of fit and finish. This made it a nice alternative to those that didn't want to spend $1500. HP has just released their latest refresh of the dv7 series of models with one that can be found for under $1000. Is this new model still a good alternative or has it been watered down too much to be a real desktop replacement? Find out in my review of the HP Pavilion dv7-6c80us laptop.
